Danette Stafford MBA, MST
Danette began her career in the accounting industry at
Americal Airlines, a Van Nuys, CA start up that trained police pilots
and rented small Cessna's airplanes, in 1971. She caught the
entrepreneurial spirit early and aside from a few years spent with NASA
on the Apollo-Soyuz mission, her 30 year career in accounting and
business management has focused on building and supporting small
business ventures. "It takes great passion and commitment to be a successful entrepreneur,
to see a different path for yourself and reach for it. It is creativity
at its finest, and it is what made this country what it is today. Helping someone achieve financial independence through
entrepreneurism is immensely satisfying."
Over the years Danette has helped countless people follow their dream to self employment and financial success, while bootstrapping two successful businesses of her own. Her strong belief in the American people and the power of small businesses to rebuild and sustain the American economy drives Danette's daily work. "America built it's world position by being the best and the brightest, by pulling out all the stops and being the first, the leader, and on the cutting edge. We did that by using our brains and our creativity, by creating new and better ideas. That's where our focus needs to be today, on new ideas. At Stafford Accounting, we take those shoe boxes full of receipts and turn them into reliable, relevant and useable information. So you can get back to the business of running your business."
In addition to her work at Stafford Accounting, Danette is active in the community, teaching marketing and taxation to undergraduates at Everest College, Colorado Springs. She helped found "Everest Entrepreneurs", a school social club that hosted numerous self employed people from the local community as speakers. "The social club was a great way to introduce students to other self made individuals in the community. When the students saw that these were all just regular human beings with an idea, and a whole lot of guts, it gave them hope and opened the door to their own ideas. It was a win/win for everyone. It connected the school and the students with community leaders. Overall, it was a very rewarding experience." When asked about teaching Danette says, "I thoroughly enjoy teaching. It is a great joy and a great challenge. I encourage students with an interest and a talent for numbers to consider bookkeeping and accounting as a career. If you are looking for a career that is in demand in ANY economy, consider accounting because without exception, every business needs some level of bookkeeping, accounting and tax service. Every business! Now that's job security." Danette is also gives Quickbooks training for individuals and small groups.
Danette's business experience is supported by a strong commitment to continuing education. She earned an AA degree in Accounting from Los Angeles Valley College with cum laude honors. She went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and an MBA with an emphasis in Marketing, both with honors, from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, one of the top AACSB accredited universities in the United States. Danette has recently completed her MST training in Taxation from Bentley University in Massachusetts and now runs our office in Los Angeles, California.
